Call for Session Proposals

The NSLA 2022 Conference will take place from October 14 to October 16 at the Holiday Inn- Sydney Waterfront.

The theme of this year’s conference is Libraries. Connections. Communities.  Libraries inform, inspire, and connect people through in-person and online services, leading to many impactful experiences for individuals, families, organizations, and businesses in our communities.  They provide welcoming spaces where all people can learn, relax, discover, and connect with others. Valuable community partnerships are also fostered and developed through libraries.

The members of the Planning Committee have been hard at work developing a slate of sessions that will engage and inform participants, and we need your input.  What kinds of sessions do you want to see at the conference?

If you have a suggestion for a conference session, we want to hear from you. Here’s what you need to know.

  • Presentations should relate to the conference theme.

  • Presentations can be solo presentations or panels. (Got an idea for a different format? We’ll consider that, too.)

  • Presentations should be one (1) hour in length, including time for questions.  If more time is required, please include this request along with details in your proposal.

NOTE: Suggestions for preconference — full-day or half-day sessions — are also welcome.

Please send your submissions — and questions — to conference@nsla.ns.ca, by June 1, 2022 and include

  • a brief description of the topic/proposed session and how it connects with the conference theme

  • technical requirements

  • contact information

  • associated costs, if any

We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
