Call for Session Proposals

The 2018 NSLA/LBANS Conference will take place from September 28 to September 30, 2018 at the Rodd Grand Hotel, in Yarmouth.

The theme of this year’s conference is Be Bold. It’s a call for Nova Scotia’s library workers and supporters to embrace new opportunities, learn new skills, look at things from a fresh perspective, and try new things both as individuals and as organizations.

The members of the Program Committee have been hard at work developing a slate of sessions that will engage and educate, and we need your input. What kinds of sessions do you want to see at the conference?

If you have a suggestion for a conference session, we want to hear from you. Here’s what you need to know.

  • Presentations should relate to the conference theme.
  • Presentations can be solo presentations or panels. (Got an idea for a different format? We’ll consider that, too.)
  • Presentations should be one (1) hour in length (including time for questions) (If more time is required please include the information in your proposal)

NOTE: Suggestions for preconference ― full-day or half-day sessions ― are also welcome.

Please send your submissions ― and questions ― to conference@nsla.ns.ca, by May 1, 2018 and include:

  1. a brief description of the topic/proposed session (incl. how it connects with the conference theme)
  2. technical requirements
  3. contact information
  4. associated costs, if any

We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

2018 NSLA/LBANS Conference Planning Committee
