State-of-the-Art Library Opens in Antigonish
A community-designed, state-of-the-art public library is adding to the already exceptional quality of life in Antigonish. The Antigonish Town and County Library is a decade-long project built using Project for Public Spaces principles that emphasize community consultation in the design. The environmentally friendly library has geo-thermal heating and cooling, solar power and features artwork by local artists, including a mural by Mi’kmaq artist Alan Syliboy titled The Dream Canoe. The five-point-five million-dollar facility is funded by community contributors and all three levels of government.
