Opening of the new Bridgetown & Area Library

The Annapolis Valley Regional Library is pleased to announce the opening of the new Bridgetown & Area Library.

The Library opened to the public on March 3, 2011 with an official grand opening held on June 18th with the Honourable Dave Wilson, Minister of Communities, Culture & Heritage in attendance along with MP Greg Kerr and other local dignitaries.

The Regional Library worked with the Town and the Friends of the Library for more than ten years to make the dream of a new library a reality. An existing town-owned building was renovated, breathing new life into a vacant building in the centre of town.

The new Bridgetown Library & Area is a huge improvement over the previous branch which was located in the basement of Town Hall. Not only is this facility larger, it is wheelchair accessible, has a program room, and an after-hours book drop. Residents now have a bright, welcoming library they can be proud of.
