Job Opportunity: Nova Scotia Provincial Library: Cataloguer

The Nova Scotia Provincial Library has an excellent opportunity for a Cataloguer (Library Technician 1-2). The competition will close on December 1, 2015. Duties: Under the general direction the Senior Library Technician and/or the Librarian (Head of Catalogue Maintenance), the Cataloguer is responsible for building and maintaining the library catalogues of a consortium of regional library boards and other client libraries. This is accomplished through the cataloguing and classification of library materials, which involves a thorough subject analysis of each resource and the creation of detailed catalogue entries for all library materials. Records are created for each resource held in client library catalogues, in multiple formats, in English and in French. This position also has regular phone and email communication with client library staff to explain or address issues that arise.
